An Invitation From My Heart (And My Mat)
Hello dear friends,
It’s been a minute, hasn’t it?
If you’ve been following my journey as a performer over the years, first of all—thank you. You’ve seen me on stage, in character, behind a microphone, or mid-dance. Your presence and support, even silently from afar, have meant so much. Life has shifted in all kinds of ways lately (for all of us), and I wanted to take a moment to share a more personal update with you.
Like many of you, I’ve been feeling the weight of the world these days—the instability, the unpredictability, the ache for something grounding. For me, that grounding force has been my wellness practice—coming back to movement, breath, and strength when so much else feels uncertain.
Fitness has always been in my bones. As some of you know, I’m a trained dancer who came to NYC 15 years ago to study acting, music, and movement. What fewer people may know is that a knee injury shifted the course of my artistic path—but, as life often does, it rerouted me toward something unexpectedly beautiful. In my healing process, I found yoga. That discovery opened the door to a new way of moving and living in my body. From there, I began to develop a movement approach that supported me in a deeper, more sustainable way.
Over the years, that approach evolved into a method that blends yoga, strength training, and mobility—a mix that’s helped me stay strong, grounded, and creative, even in tight spaces or tight schedules. Now, I’m offering this method through my fitness coaching practice, and I’d love to share it with you.
If health and wellness is something you’ve been craving more of—physically or emotionally—I’d be honored to have you join me on this next chapter. You can find me over at @fitnesswithmyriam on Instagram, where I post wellness tips, bite-sized flows, and ways to reconnect with your body, even when life feels chaotic. Whether you’re new to wellness or looking to reignite your practice, this space is for you.
I also quietly launched a little corner of the internet—my fitness website—where you can access a free mini-course I created to help you feel strong and stable at home. If that speaks to you, I hope you’ll check it out.
And just to be clear: I’m still singing, still performing, and very much still creating (some exciting projects are in the works!). But today’s message is about this new(ish) side of my work. It’s about the joy of movement as medicine, and the power of showing up for ourselves—even just a little bit—each day.
This offering is from my heart to yours. Maybe it’ll feel good to you, too—especially in these strange, shifting times.
Let’s support each other. Let’s lead with love.
With gratitude,
Myriam Xx
